Finkkle Spaces works as a system-level assistant on Android. Once configured, invoking the assistant gesture opens a Spaces conversation overlay directly over whatever app you are using — then you can continue the conversation later in the full web experience.

Set up the Android assistant

1

Install the Finkkle Spaces app

Download and install the current Finkkle Spaces Android release from the Play Store.
2

Set as default assistant

  1. Open Android Settings
  2. Go to Apps → Default apps → Digital assistant app
  3. Select Finkkle Spaces
3

Invoke the assistant

Use your device’s system assistant gesture (hold the home button, or use the gesture bar depending on your Android version) to open the Spaces overlay.

The overlay experience

When you invoke the assistant, a translucent Spaces overlay slides up from the bottom of the screen. The composer appears and the underlying app stays visible behind it. You can:
  • Ask a question about what you are looking at
  • Start a new task or research thread
  • Continue an existing conversation
  • Dismiss the overlay without losing your place in the app

Foreground context

When the app you are using permits it, Spaces may receive a bounded snapshot of the foreground screen: Spaces uses this snapshot as reference material to help answer questions about what you are looking at — it does not execute actions in the foreground app unless you explicitly ask.
Some apps block assist data for privacy reasons. Spaces does not require foreground context to function — it works as a normal conversation even when no context is available.

Conversation sync

Messages you start through the Android assistant use the same conversation system as the Spaces web app. Sign in with your Finkkle account and conversations will sync automatically — open spaces.finkkle.com on any device to continue.
