How Spaces is organized

A Space is a working environment. Inside it, conversations are the durable record of your work. A conversation can include messages, selected context, files, visual artifacts, code, and automation history. Return to the conversation later to continue from the same point.

Choose the right mode

  • Chat: ask questions, plan work, draft content, or get explanations.
  • Research: gather and compare sources, then produce an evidence-focused answer.
  • Study: turn a topic into explanations, examples, and practice.
  • Code and data: work through implementation, calculations, structured data, and assumptions.

What you can bring into a conversation

Use text, files, links, images, and explicit tab context as needed. Spaces treats supplied material as reference context, keeps the active conversation in focus, and lets you decide what should be included in a request.

What you can take away

Responses can become reusable artifacts such as notes, documents, tables, code, or visual work. Save the result in the conversation, copy it into your workflow, or continue iterating with a follow-up message.

Continue anywhere

When account sync is available, web conversations and conversations started through the Android assistant share the same Spaces history. The Android assistant page explains the overlay and foreground context.
